With 35 new cases of influenza A H1N1 reported from the national Capital on Monday, the total number of persons affected with the viral infection touched 750 so far this year.
Eleven persons have succumbed to the infection, known as swine flu, of which 10 have died in February.
The viral infection saw a comeback after four years in Delhi, when there was an outbreak in 2009. More than 6,000 people had contracted the disease then, with nearly 100 persons succumbing to it.
Health experts blame the spread of the infection to prolonged winters this year and hope that the numbers will come down once the weather clears out.
"The numbers have already started coming down, and with warmer days the infection will eventually die out completely," said Dr SP Byotra, chairman, department of medicine, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.
In India, 249 people have died of swine flu so far this year with the highest toll reported from Rajasthan.
A total of 2,148 people have tested positive for the virus in nine states across the country with the highest number of cases reported from Delhi followed by Rajasthan (549) and Haryana (294).

One more swine flu death in Faridabad
One more person died of swine flu in Faridabad on Monday, taking the total number of deaths here to five.
A patient identified as Usha Tiku, 55, of Sector 21D in Faridabad died at a private hospital in Sector 21 A due to swine flu early on Monday.
"She was admitted in the hospital with multiple problems and died due to swine flu," Dr Anupam Pandey of Asian Institute of Medical Sciences confirmed.
Government authorities however out the toll at four. "Till Sunday, a total of four deaths were reported from different private hospitals," Dr Romesh Chandra, deputy civil surgeon, Faridabad said, adding, "They were yet to receive information about the fifth death on Monday".
He said in all, 61 patients have tested positive for H1N1 in different hospitals of the city. htc
