In another case of crime against senior citizens, a 70-year-old woman was found murdered at her residence in New Moti Nagar in west Delhi on Saturday afternoon.

In another case of crime against senior citizens, a 70-year-old woman was found murdered at her residence in New Moti Nagar in west Delhi on Saturday afternoon.

The victim, Sheila Vanti, was found in her bedroom with stab injuries to her chest, abdomen and neck.

According to police, the entry was friendly. The victim’s house was ransacked; her jewellery, however, was intact. Police received a PCR call at 3.30 pm when Sheila Vanti’s son Vinod came home in the afternoon.

According to police, Vinod and his wife had left for work around 10am. Around 2.45pm, Vinod returned home from work to find the door to his house shut but not locked.

“He hurried to the bedroom and found his mother lying on the floor,” said a police officer. A case of murder has been registered.
