The Central government has provided around 8,500 paramilitary force personnel to ensure fool-proof security during the two-month-long Amarnath Yatra.

The security personnel have been deployed along the entire route to the cave shrine of Lord Shiva at a height of 3,888 metres in the south Kashmir Himalayas.
"We have provided enough securitymen for peaceful completion of the pilgrimage," a Home Ministry official said. As many as 13,000 pilgrims had 'darshan' of ice lingam of Lord Shiva at the cave shrine of Amarnath since the Yatra commenced on Wednesday.
Around 2.90 lakh pilgrims have been registered so far across the country.
The Yatra would conclude on August 25. Curfew has been continuing in Sopore, Baramulla, Mattan, Bijbehara, Dooru, Kokernag, Achhabal in Anantnag, Qaimoh in Kulgam and Pulwama districts of south Kashmir following recent incidents of clashes and stone-pelting there.
