The second Itr and Sugandhi Festival, organised by Delhi Tourism, provides ample shopping options for the itr lovers. Also on sale are exotic aggarbattis, dhoopbattis, scented candles, essential oils, perfumes, room fresheners and other scented products.

The festival is also educating people on how these exotic fragrances are created with demonstrations on the art and science behind the process of rose water distillation.

Also on the itinerary are quiz programmes, magic shows, competitions for slogan writing and lectures on Itr, sugandhi and aromatherapy by experts apart from cultural programmes.

Manish Chatrath, chairman, Delhi Tourism, inaugurated the festival on Thursday evening by lighting a especially designed 5.5 feet tall and 8 kg eco-friendly aggarbatti, which will last for 101 hours.

“The festival offers an interesting mix of awareness generation, cultural programmes and sale of traditional fragrances. There are around 40 stalls with opportunities for both trade and retail business,” said a senior official from Delhi Tourism. The festival is on till Sunday.
