Party spokesperson Sanjay Singh also challenged former Congress MLA Asif Mohd. Khan to make public any proof he has to show that the AAP offered him a cabinet berth in exchange of the support of 6 MLAs.

“This is not the first time that Khan is saying this. He is neither an untouchable nor a great personality that he cannot be met. I did meet him after his meeting with senior BJP leaders,” Singh said.

“He claimed that they (the BJP) had offered them the post of deputy chief minister and ministerial berths to his camp,” he said.

The party has chosen not to deny the veracity of the tape and has been justifying their last ditch attempts at forming the government. This, however, has become a problem as the party leadership, especially Kejriwal, was seen holding dharnas and demanding fresh elections in the city while these negotiations were happening behind closed doors.

The only option for the party now is to wait for Kejriwal and take the questions head on. The party was in a similar crisis during the election campaign when a splinter group had alleged that it took Rs 2 crore from dubious companies. At the time Yogendra Yadav, along with other senior leaders, had come forward and defended the party.
