Aarushi case: SC decision on Nupur Talwar's bail plea today

The Supreme Court will decide today the petition by Nupur Talwar, seeking reconsideration of an earlier order by the apex court that paved the way for the trial of Nupur and and her husband Rajesh in the double murder of Aarushi and Hemraj.

Besides Nupur, her husband Rajesh is also facing trial after the special CBI court in Ghaziabad refused to accept the closure report in the four-year-old murder case.

A bench of Justice AK Patnaik and Justice JS Khehar would also pronounce its order on Nupur's bail application. The court had on May 16 reserved its orders on both the pleas after hearing extensive arguments forwarded by the dentist and the CBI.

Nupur had claimed that she was not asking for a clean chit in the case but seeking a direction to the CBI to re-investigate the case.

Aarushi was found dead with her throat slit at her Noida residence on the intervening night of May 15 and 16, 2008, while Hemraj's body was recovered from the terrace of the house a day later. Though Nupur is in judicial custody, Rajesh is out on bail. Trial against the duo has already begun in the case after a session's court ordered framing of charges.
