Abdul Halim sent to judicial custody

The metropolitan court sent Abdul Halim, arrested in connection with the serial blasts in the city, to judicial custody after his police remand ended.

The metropolitan court on Tuesday sent Abdul Halim, arrested in connection with the serial blasts in the city, to judicial custody after his police remand ended.

Earlier, Halim was in police remand till August 10 from July 28. City crime branch had made request for extension of two days remand, which the court had accepted and granted two more days of police remand.

Halim, a SIMI activist, is the only person arrested in connection with the July 26 serial blasts in the city which claimed 55 lives.

During interrogation, the poilce found out that Halim has links with one Abdul Karim Tunda, who is wanted for blasts in Mumbai and Hyderabad and other cases and is still absconding.
