Accounts exam was tough business

The class XII commerce students appearing for the Board exams this year are a visibly upset lot. While the exams began on a wrong note with students finding the Business Studies paper too lengthy, the accounts examination on Saturday had many complaining about the tricky questions.

“The paper was well balanced and nothing was out of the syllabus, but it was clearly meant for the bright students. An average student would have faced difficulty attempting the questions because they were quite different from the ones seen in the CBSE sample papers,” said Monica Gupta, accounts teacher at Springdales School, Pusa Road.

“The nature of the questions was tricky and only an above-average student could have managed to complete it correctly and in time. The question from non-profit organisation of set II was of a very high standard. I am not sure if all could of attempted this correctly. I hope the Board would use all its experience and wisdom to compensate the students,” said
