Amendment to come regarding no imposition of wealth tax on agricultural land: P Chidambaram

Finance Minister, P Chidambaram says they are bringing an amendment regarding no imposition of wealth tax on agricultural land. He also added that a canard was being spread regarding the imposition of wealth tax on farm land. “I challenge anyone and I am ready to have a debate on the issue,’’ he said in Lok Sabha while speaking on the Finance Bill 2013. There was no intention to levy wealth tax on agricultural land. There is no controversy on the issue, the Chidambaram told Lok Sabha.
