Bal Bharati Public School, Dwarka, celebrated its 13th Annual Day where the chief guest was DK Bandhopadhay, vice-chancellor of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. Rittika Parruck, regional manager (India and Sri Lanka) British Council and Simmi Kher, coordinator with Tony Blair Faith Foundation, UK, were the guests of honour. School chairman KK Khullar was also present. The cultural programme and the exhibition were based on the theme ‘Every Child is Special’. Principal Suruchi Gandhi presented the annual Report.
The Indian School, Sadiq Nagar, hosted the seventh Annual Inter School English Debate Competition, the Dr. Amidas Goradia Debate: A Forum for Ignited Minds on the topic, ‘Media is much ado about nothing’. School chairman Prafull Goradia welcomed the chief guest, Chandan Mitra, editor-in-chief of Pioneer Group and Member of Parliament. Dr. Sadhna Parasher, education officer at CBSE, and Suparna Singh, deputy CEO of NDTV Convergence, were the guests of honour for the occasion. Eminent judges for the debate were Zakka Jacob, senior editor at Headlines Today, and Reshmi Dasgupta, editor, travel and life style, The Economics Times. The best school rolling trophy was bagged by Delhi Public School, RK Puram.
Students of Salwan Public School (Afternoon) were engaged in a live video-conference with Tony Blair, Founder of the Tony Blair Faith Foundation. The students, along with the schools from the Palestinian Territory and UK, explored the theme of human rights and faith. The students had a unique opportunity of addressing questions to Tony Blair as well as Sarah Edwards, head of policy and campaigns at Health Poverty Action, an international development organisation. Principal Rima Ailawadi concluded that it was very encouraging to see children interacting on issues of faith and developing, as well as sharing, their vision for a sensitive and progressive world.

The cultural fiesta included Panchmukhi: An assortment of dances of Punjab, Kashmir, Assam, Goa and Gujarat; an English play, ‘Christmas Carol’ and an act ‘Hasya Kavi Goshthi’. An illustrious graphic presentation, ‘School at a Glance’ by the principal highlighted on the leaps and bound progress made by the school over the years. Prize distribution ceremony followed this.
