Gujarat additional director general of police PP Pandey, an accused in the Ishrat Jahan encounter-killing case, got anticipatory bail on Monday from a special CBI court till July 31.

Pandey, who had been skirting the law, surrendered before the court in accordance with the direction of the Supreme Court.
He was hospitalised in the morning after he complained of "chest pain and high temperature" in a private hospital in Ahmedabad.
He was brought in a stretcher and was driven to the court directly from the hospital in an ambulance.
His lawyers said he had "an immaculate record" in the Indian Police Service and was the target of a "witch hunt" by the CBI.
Pandey had been absconding since April, when the CBI had summoned him for questioning regarding his alleged involvement in the killing of four persons including Mumbra girl Ishrat Jahan.
