A city court on Monday refused to grant bail to suspended BJP MP Babubhai Katara and two of his accomplices, Kiran Dhar and Satwant, in the human trafficking case registered against them on April 18.

The court said their release would have a "detrimental impact" on the probe, as the police were yet to lay their hands on the other suspected MPs. "It is apparent the needle of suspicion also points to others who are highly influential," said Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kamini Lau.

Katara was detained at IGI Airport on April 18 while he was trying to fly a woman and a minor boy illegally to Canada. The names of other MPs — Mitrasen Yadav, Ashok Kumar Rawat, Tahir Khan and Ramswaroop Koli — came up during the probe.

Dhar, arrested on April 20, had sought her release saying she was just a typist and had no complicity in the offence.
