Bail refused to Pawar slapper

A city court on Wednesday refused to grant bail to Harvinder Singh, who had slapped NCP leader and Union minister Sharad Pawar at a function here, saying that he needed further medical treatment as the report showed that he was suffering from a psychological problem.

A city court on Wednesday refused to grant bail to Harvinder Singh, who had slapped NCP leader and Union minister Sharad Pawar at a function here, saying that he needed further medical treatment as the report showed that he was suffering from a psychological problem.

"In view of the report received from the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS), I feel that at this stage, the accused cannot be admitted to bail as his medical examination by a medical board is still pending. The bail application is hereby dismissed," said metropolitan magistrate Jasjeet Kaur.
