BJP to announce new allies soon

The Bharatiya Janata Party said that it would soon announce new allies for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Friday said that it would soon announce new allies for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

"Besides the existing partners of the NDA (National Democratic Alliance), we are in continuous talks with some regional parties and will soon announce their names," party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar told mediapersons in New Delhi.

Asked about reports that cricketer Anil Kumble might be given a party ticket from Karnataka, Javadekar said: "Any respected citizen of the country is welcome to join us (BJP) and it is yet to be decided whether he (Kumble) will be given a ticket."

"We are yet to declare candidates for Karnataka," he added.
