Yogesh’s disclosure was reportedly accepted by the tax authorities on September 25.

Sources said, on the declaration of black money to the tune of 2.38 crore, Yogesh had reportedly paid a tax of 1.07 crore under the general amnesty scheme for tax defaulters.

Bansal and his son visited the CBI headquarters on September 26 and the next day both of them were found hanging in their East Delhi flat where two months earlier the corporate ministry official’s wife and daughter also committed suicide.

Both the father and son left detailed suicide notes alleging torture and harassment from the five CBI sleuths including a DIG rank officer.

The Delhi police are hesitating to register a case of abetment to suicide against the officials named so far. The CBI has deputed a joint director rank official to conduct probe into the matter.

The meeting went on for around 30 minutes to one hour with the investigation officer.

The CBI sources have already clarified that Bansal was not called to the agency headquarters that day and he had gone there on his own.
