The Supreme Court on Friday granted bail to Utsav Bhasin, teenaged son of a Haryana industrialist, charged with mowing down a motorcyclist with his BMW car in South Delhi.

A bench of Justices SB Sinha and Mukundakam Sharma said that Bhasin be released on bail on a personal bond of Rs 50,000.
Bhasin has been in jail since the September 2008 incident after the Delhi High Court turned down his bail plea.
The teenager has been booked under section 304 IPC (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) on the charge that the vehicle dragged the victim for several yards after knocking him down.
Bhasin (19) was allegedly on the wheels when his BMW car hit two men -- Anuj Singh and Mrigank Singh -- on a motorcycle around 2.30 am on September 11, 2008 near Moolchand flyover in South Delhi.
