In her complaint to the Sadar Police Station, the woman executive alleged that the chief operating officer (COO) of the
company in which she works as a project manager, came to drop her at her Gurgaon house after an office party in Saket on January 20. She said her boss then tried to rape her.

The police said the COO is based in Mumbai and a team has been sent to trace and question him.

In her complaint to police, Shradha (name changed) said at the party her boss insisted to drop her to her Gurgaon house in Sector 51.

"She and her boss left the party after midnight along with two more employees in the same car. After reaching Sector 51, where Shradha lives, her boss asked two other employees (a man and a woman) to leave for their respective houses and said that he will leave after some time," said Inderjeet Singh, SHO of Sadar police station.

Police said both the complainant and her boss were drunk. Shradha reportedly asked her boss to leave but he didn't.

Police said Shradha is married and her husband was away to US when the incident happened. She took all these days to lodge a complaint because she was waiting for her husband's return and then approach the police. A case was registered on Saturday.

The police will now question the two other employees who travelled with them in the car that night. "They are eyewitnesses and their statement is important. Her boss is in Mumbai and a team has been sent to trace him," the SHO said.

A case under section 376 (attempt to rape) and 511 (Punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment) of Indian Penal Code has been registered.
