The CBI has arrested a member of Company Law Board (CLB) R Vasudevan and a company secretary in a case of bribery to the tune of Rs seven lakh for a favourable order.
After registering a case on a source information, the CBI started monitoring the activities of Vasudevan during which they claimed to have got the information that he would be handed over money to the tune of Rs seven lakh by a company secretary to give a favourable order, official sources said.
The CBI swooped on his official residence and arrested the duo when Vasudevan was allegedly accepting the bribe amount, the sources said.
Immediately, the CBI teams fanned to other locations of the company as well as office of the CLB member and searches were continuing, the sources said.
The company secretary was also caught while delivering the illegal gratification at the official residence of CLB member, they said.
Vasudevan was hearing a case of the company, whose identity was not immediately known.
