CBI chief meets CVC on 2G spectrum probe

Singh apprised the CVC of the progress made so far in the case and further line of investigations that could be taken in largest scam in terms of amount involved, sources in the agency said.

The CBI chief is understood to have given details of various aspects of the case including pending Letters Rogatory sent to various countries, they said.

The CVC had convened this meeting after the Supreme Court ordered it to monitor the CBI probe in the spectrum allocation scam and scrapped all the 122 telecom licenses issued by the government in 2008.

Sources in the CVC had said the anti-corruption watchdog was considering a fortnightly meeting with CBI officials to monitor the investigation.

The apex court had on February 2 asked the CBI to file status reports on its ongoing probe into the 2G spectrum allocation case to the CVC.
