The CBI on Saturday asked the state-owned Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) chief VRS Natrajan to appear before the Tatra deal investigators on Tuesday.
"Natrajan's all known phone numbers were switched off. The request for appearance has been emailed to him," said a source. The examined three other BEML officials in the Tatra deal early this week.

Natrajan joined the BEML board on December 1, 2002 as chairman and managing director. He has held many positions in the public and private sector before joining the BEML. So far he has not been named as an accused in the case but his role in the whole Tatra deal is under scanner.
The CBI has registered a case against the BEML, UK based businessman Ravinder Rishi and his company Tatra Sipox (UK) Limited in the procurement of heavy-duty Tarta turcks by the army since 1997. The army used to procure these trucks through the BEML.
