Class 12 student raped in Dwarka

A 17-year-old Class 12 student was allegedly raped by her friend in southwest Delhi's Dwarka on Wednesday. Police said the victim was visiting one of her friends in the area, who introduced her to the accused.

"The girl and the accused then headed for a farmhouse in the Bijwasan area after dropping her friend at Dwarka's sector 9," said an officer.

The assailant, the victim told the police, lured her to the farmhouse, where he raped her before dumping her at Palam.

The victim then contacted her friend who informed the police about the incident.

"A police team rushed to the spot after which she was taken for medical examination, which confirmed rape. A case of sexual assault was registered at the Dwarka (south) police station," the officer said.

Police said several teams were currently in the process of trying to locate the accused, who is absconding.

In another incident, a junior engineer with the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) was arrested for charges of befriending a woman on a website and subsequently raping her on the pretext of marriage in Jamia Nagar.
