CM inaugurates effluent treatment plant

Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Saturday inaugurated a Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) at Bawana Industrial Estate here for treating effluents and polluted water discharged from industrial units.

Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Saturday inaugurated a Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) at Bawana Industrial Estate here for treating effluents and polluted water discharged from industrial units.

"The effluent will be pumped to the plant through raw effluent pumping station situated in various sectors of industrial area by way of rising mains. The treated water will be used for horticulture purposes and help in making entire area green," Dikshit said.

The plant at Bawana in north Delhi has been set up with an investment of Rs 53.74 crore over a 53,000 sq metres area. It will serve more than 20,000 industrial units.

Industries minister Ramakant Goswami, who was also present on the occasion, said that the plant was conceptualised by the Delhi Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC).
