The AICC legal department chief Abhishek Singhvi, who took a party delegation to the Election Commission, said that the EC has also ordered that the cost of four such functions should be added to the expenses of BJP candidate Rajendrasinh Rana.
Singhvi said that the Swami delivered "communally provocative speeches" in the guise of spiritual discourses under the auspices of Sri Sri Ravishankar's Art of Living programme in Gujarat.
"Under the guise of giving religious discourses, BJP candidates are being called on to the stage and a blatant appeal to vote on the basis of religion is being made," he told reporters.
Singhvi accompanied by senior leader Motilal Vora met the Election Commission and gave a written representation listing the alleged violation of code of conduct in Gujarat by the BJP candidates.
