Congress today steered clear of the controversy surrounding CBI investigation into the alleged irregularities in spectrum allocation, saying the work relates to the government and no political party should comment on it.

The party at the same time maintained that there should be zero tolerance for corruption, and transparency and accountability in public life.
"It is not proper for Congress or any political party to comment on the issue. This entire issue is in government files. Only the government can say what has happened," party spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed told reporters.
He at the same added, "Congress stand is very clear. There should be transparency and accountability in public life. There should be zero tolerance against corruption."
He was replying to queries regarding BJP's strong reaction on Telecom Minister A Raja's statement that there was no question of his resignation over the Spectrum allocation controversy.
"This (the investigation) is against officers. So far, no minister has been named. If any such name comes, then something can be said. If any one is named, then naturally it raises questions. When any such thing happens, we will express our views," Ahmed said.
Earlier, senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley had said, "if he (A Raja) continues in office, the government could not free itself from the taint of corruption."
