Talking to reporters, BJP President Nitin Gadkari sought Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's intervention in the matter.
“It is unfortunate,” Gadkari said.
“It is Prime Minister's responsibility to protect democracy in the country. If the people under him are behaving undemocratically, will the prime minister not pay attention to it?” he said.
Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari Sunday alleged that anti-graft campaigner Anna Hazare is himself involved in corruption, adding that people linked to the veteran Gandhian are facing serious charges of corruption, including extortion, land grabbing and blackmailing.
