‘Cop did not allow us to vote’

Priti and Ajay Sehgal, residents of Kirti Nagar, did not vote. Not because they did not want to. They had gone to the polling centre with their three-year-old son Kushal. But a police officer stopped them, saying they could not take Kushal inside.

“We went to Happy Senior Secondary School with Kushal around 11.45 a.m. When we were about to enter the school, a police officer stopped us and said we could not take our son inside. We tried to reason with him but he would not listen. We couldn’t leave our son outside,” said Priti, a housewife.
