Members of Municipal Corporation of Faridabad (MCF) will now enjoy the facility of spending Rs 2 crore annually on their wards. There are 35 wards in Faridabad and the amount will be apart from other routine works to be undertaken in the wards.

A lot of hue and cry ensued when Rs 1,000 crore annual budget was presented by Faridabad mayor Ashok Arora in the chair on March 17. As members disrupted the proceedings of the house many times, raising the issue of unfinished developmental projects and also criticised the officials for caring for a few VIP wards, MCF authorities including the commissioner assured the members that Rs 2 crore would now be spent on development of each ward in Faridabad.
"The works in each ward will be undertaken to the tune of Rs 2 crore on the recommendation of each corporator apart from routine works," said Mukesh Solanki, joint commissioner, MCF.
Some members said this is the first time that such an allocation has been made for the wards.
