Court allows student to continue in CRPF school

The daughter of a paramilitary trooper, who retired voluntarily, can continue her studies in Central Reserve Police Force Public School, despite her father no longer being in the service, the Delhi Hight Court said.

The daughter of a paramilitary trooper, who retired voluntarily, can continue her studies in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Public School, despite her father no longer being in the service, the Delhi Hight Court said on Wednesday.

Justice S. Ravinder Bhat in an interim order allowed Rimpy, daughter of Madan Singh, to continue her studies in Class 11 in the school for the kids of paramilitary troopers.

The court also directed the school's governing body not to terminate Singh's membership from the school's committee and set aside a notice issued Dec 13 terminating his membership.

Filing a petition before Justice Bhat, the petitioner stated that her father, a constable, took voluntary retirement from the job in 2007 after which the school started raising a bill towards her tuition fee.

In October 2007, she was served with a fee slip amounting to Rs.50,995, she added.

In December 2007, the school society terminated her father's membership and threatened to strike off her name from the school rolls.
