The Delhi High Court on Wednesday sought response from the police on how a weekly news magazine gained access to the alleged confessional statements of the three accused who were arrested in the Delhi serial bomb blasts.

A Bench comprising Chief Justice A.P Shah and Justice S. Muralidhar directed the government counsel to seek instruction from the Delhi Police on how the reporters got details of the alleged confessional statements made by the accused in the custody.
“It (news report) contains complete conversation. We have to know whether the reporter had met them (accused). You take instruction from the police on the matter," the court said, adding that it is not expressing any opinion on the matter.
The court’s direction came after an NGO, People's Union for Democratic Rights, contended that the police is intentionally leaking such information to media, which is not even admissible in the court.
