Members of the organisation have been sitting in dharna at Jantar Mantar since March 14. Suspending their dharna on the 100th day of their agitation, the agitators warned Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit not to "pollute" the Yamuna with sewage after the river cleansed itself with flood water.

"Otherwise, your power will be washed away just as the Najafgarh drain empties into the Yamuna," said Shri Om and Ishwar Chand Tripathi, two of the protesters.

One of the demands of the Abhiyaan was the release of additional water from the Hathni Kund in Haryana to ensure the continuous flow of the Yamuna.

"Haryana’s chief minister, who had adamantly refused to release more water, was forced by nature to release lakhs and lakhs of cusecs of water. He had to swallow his pride as Nature doled out justice," said Shri Om, who had been on the sit-in dharna since day one.

"This is an issue of concern for all farmers, not just those along the Yamuna bank, so I am here," Tripathi, a farmer, who had come all the way from Satna (MP), said.
