Ministry of Information and Broadcasting officials said they are powerless to do anything about the multiple tiers of goof-ups that various Doordarshan channels commit on a daily basis, since the public broadcaster has complete autonomy.

Meanwhile, complaints have been mounting from viewers as well as parliamentarians, who point out that there is no way of knowing exactly what aspect of the Games will be shown on various DD channels.
