Blaming Suresh Kalmadi, Darbari said that the decision to award contract was approved by the OC chairman. He also accused Kalmadi and former deputy director general Sanjay Mohindroo for the AM Films fraud.

A day after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested close aides of Commonwealth Games organizing committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi in corruption cases related to the Queen’s Baton Relay in London, both the accused told the investigating agency and a city court that they “were following instructions from the top”.

Darbari said he did not have the authority to take such decisions.

Meanwhile, a Delhi court today remanded T S Darbari, Sanjay Mahendroo and CWG treasurer M Jayachandran to CBI custody for three days.

On Sunday, the police arrested the sacked treasurer of the Delhi Commonwealth Games organising committee in connection with an investigation into alleged corruption.

M. Jayachandran was arrested Sunday after several rounds of questioning and searches were being carried out at his residence, a spokesman for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said, according to the Press Trust of India news agency.
