The dream of Delhi MLAs to own luxurious flats at the Commonwealth Games Village at cheap rates is going to remain unfulfilled.

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA), which owns a large section of the flats, has ruled out acceding to the demand made by the MLAs in April this year. Cutting across party lines, MLAs had demanded the Delhi government to provide these flats at cost prices.
The flats at the Games Village is being developed by Emaar MGF along with DDA. There are 1,168 flats in the complex, which will be sold after the Games.
DDA’s share include one third of these flats, apart from the 333 flats it had bought from Emaar MGF as part of a bailout package last year.
The cost of these flats is between R 2 to 5 crore. “There will be no preferential treatment is selling the flats,” DDA Vice Chairman Ashok Kumar Nigam said.
