The Delhi High Court on Wednesday dismissed the bail plea of Dinesh Yadav, the owner of the bus in which the horrific December 16 gang rape incident took place, in a case of cheating and forgery for allegedly submitting false information to get a transport permit.

Justice Mukta Gupta accepted the prosecution’s argument that the investigation was in the preliminary stage and turned down Yadav’s plea, saying “no interference is required into the order of the trial court”.
Challenging the trial court’s March 12 order dismissing his bail petition, Yadav, 35, in his plea claimed he was in no way connected to the incident. Yadav, arrested on January 2, sought bail on the grounds of parity saying co-accused Rakam Singh has already been granted bail in the case.
The police had registered a case of cheating and forgery under various sections of IPC against Yadav. They said he had submitted false information to the State Transport Department to get the registration certificate and the permit for the bus.
