Delhi engineers write to PM about report

In a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the engineers said they feel “demoralised, de-motivated and to an extent cheated” on the kind of treatment meted out to them even though they completed Games projects “despite all odds”.

The engineers — representing agencies such as the Delhi Development Authority, the public works department, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and the New Delhi Municipal Council, which worked on several infrastructure projects — allege the findings of the committee were based on “incorrect facts” and do not conform to the “guidelines of the government procedures”.

“Some of the initial observations made by CVC's technical team have already been dropped. But the committee has presumed all these observations to be true and has further made various hypothetical assumptions,” a PWD engineer said requesting anonymity.

‘Ministries looking at Shunglu report’

Prime Minister Singh on Friday said that different ministries were analysing the Shunglu committee report on the alleged irregularities in the Commonwealth Games (CWG).

“There are appropriate procedures. The report is under analysis by various ministries. I have yet to get the analyses from the ministries,” Singh said.
