“The committee has to submit an interim report in a week and the complete report in 15 days,” Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain said.

The committee will review approval protocols, identify gaps, if any, and re-examine the documentation and interview processes by the authorisation committee of the hospital.

“If the person donating the organ is related to the recipient, an internal committee of the hospital is formed, which was done at Apollo. But if the person is unrelated, an external committee with two members from the gover nment have to approve the donation. The five-member committee will look into whether the protocols were followed properly by the hospital,” Jain said.
