Delhi: Neighbourhood boys turn heroes, act captured on CCTV

A group of teenagers turned heroes as they helped nab a man who assaulted a foreigner and snatched her mobile phone inside a gated colony in south Delhi.

A group of teenagers turned heroes as they helped nab a man who assaulted a foreigner and snatched her mobile phone inside a gated colony in south Delhi.

The incident happened in August at around 10pm and was caught on security cameras installed in the area. The footage show the man following the woman, who was talking on her phone, and trying to snatch it from her after a while. When she resisted he is seen assaulting her and fleeing from the scene.

The boys, who were playing football in the adjacent park, heard the woman's cries and immediately jumped the fence to chase the mobile-snatcher and managed to nab him after a while.

They then dragged him and brought him to the spot where the incident had taken place. The footage shows them carrying the man with a crowd following them.

Police arrived at the scene after they were called by a witness and took the man away.
