Slammed by the Delhi High Court for the shocking manner in which some policemen dealt with the rape of a five-year-old girl in the Capital, the Delhi police on Thursday said it has decided to give training on gender sensitisation to its personnel.

"Training courses on gender sensitisation will be provided to personnel from constable to inspector level for five days every month. One day in each of the next three months will be allocated to provide training on issues related to crimes against women," Delhi police counsel Dayan Krishnan told a bench headed by chief justice D Murugesan.
A lawyer Meera Bhatia had on April 25 brought to the court's attention lapses on the part of the police to investigate the missing five-year-old girl in Gandhinagar, who was found four days later inside a room brutally raped and the attempt by the police to hush up the matter by offering Rs 2000 to her parents and also the case of an ACP slapping a girl recently.
