Delhi: Three held with heroin worth Rs.10 cr

The police also recovered 3.665 kg of fine quality heroin that was to be supplied in Delhi from their possession.

A Scorpio SUV and three mobile phones have been seized from them.

The value of the recovered heroin in the international market is more than Rs.10 crore, police said on Sunday.

The arrested men are Validad Khan alias Balidas, 40, kingpin of the syndicate, Mukesh, 26 and Mohammad Yasin, 57.

Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, DCP (special cell), said the arrests came after investigation into information about drug trafficking activities in the city. The movements of members of the syndicate were watched after they were identified.

“Our team recently received information that Mukesh, one of the receivers of drug consignments in Delhi, had gone to Faridpur in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly and that he would return with a consignment of the contraband drug.

During interrogation, Mukesh revealed that he was part of a big interstate narcotics racket being run by Balidas, Yadav said.

He had received the heroin from Balidas from his house in Bareilly. A raid was conducted at Mukesh’s house from where another 1 kg of heroin was recovered.

“A team was sent to Bareilly where a raid was conducted at Balidas’s house where he was arrested. 625 grams of heroin was recovered when he was trying to dispose it by flushing it down the toilet.

"Another 490 grams of heroin was recovered from his Scorpio car. Interrogation of Balidas resulted in the arrest of Yasin from Chandni Mahal area in the Walled City,” Yadav said.
