The incident raised questions about the security arrangement at Metro stations once again.

Deepti and Pawan Kumar, who got married nine years ago and have two daughters, separated a couple of months back.

On Tuesday, after attending court proceedings related to the matrimonial dispute, Deepti and her father were about to take the Metro when the shots rang out.

Pawan had shadowed them to the station, parked his car and followed them till the escalator of entry gate number 1 on the ground floor. He was carrying an ammunition waist belt with bullets and a gun and after firing at Deepti and her father he escaped the spot.

Deepti was rushed to the hospital where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
