A Delhi University student attempted suicide by jumping in front of a metro train at Indraprastha station on Thursday. She, however, survived with injuries as the driver managed to break in time.

The final-year student of Miranda House, studying bachelors of Science, jumped before a train heading towards Yamuna Bank on the Blue Line at around 2:20pm, said the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Metro).
The girl, a 20-year-old Noida resident, sustained injuries to her head and waist, and was taken to LNJP Hospital.
Police said the girl was depressed over her performance in the practical examination held recently, leading to her suicide attempt. She is currently being treated for her injuries.
There have been several instances of people committing suicide at a metro station this year, including at Subhash Nagar, Rajouri Garden, Chandni Chowk and Patel Chowk metro stations.
