Despite langurs, monkey gets inside Games Village

Even though Delhi administration has decided to deploy langurs to avoid monkey menace during the Commonwealth Games, a long-tailed primate today sneaked inside the Athletes' Village here.

Even though Delhi administration has decided to deploy langurs to avoid monkey menace during the Commonwealth Games, a long-tailed primate today sneaked inside the Athletes' Village here.

The incident took place in the afternoon when a monkey managed to get into the Village premises and was witnessed roaming about in the pathways. However, as soon as the monkey was spotted inside the Village the officials rushed into action and got the animal out of the area.

The Delhi administration has deployed langurs at Games venues to scare off common bonnet monkeys, which have been known to attack humans.
