Chief minister Sheila Dikshit referred to strengthened public transport system, new and improved roads and pedestrian bridges, Delhi Metro and excellent academic results in its schools as her government's achievements in the past few years.

Speaking on the motion of thanks to the Lieutenant Governor's speech, Dikshit said her government returned to power for third time in succession because the electorate understood and appreciated the efforts by her government to make Delhi a 'World class city'.
Responding to opposition BJP's allegations that her government had failed to address basic issues like law and order, water, sewer, employment, traffic and unauthorised colonies,
She, however, agreed that her government faced few challenges that include improvement of water system by providing equitable distribution of water and bringing an improvement in sewerage system.
Leader of the opposition Vijay Kumar Malhotra criticised the government's claims that Delhi was a world-class city.
