He's been replaced by incumbent DSIIDC MD Amit Yadav.
With Delhi government keeping its focus on regularising unauthorised colonies ahead of assembly elections, Pal's transfer has come as a big surprise. As secretary to the department of revenue, Pal had a good understanding of the complex land issues and was coordinating with the urban development department in identifying and marking private and government land in unauthorised colonies.
Sources said Yadav's tenure in Delhi was almost over and he was due for outstation assignment in the first week of May.
Interestingly, the buzz of Pal's transfer was doing the rounds in Delhi secretariat since Wednesday morning. His transfer orders were put on the department's website that afternoon only to be removed within couple of hours.
