DJB signs agreement with private company for Nangloi water revamp

The moves comes despite a pending vigilance enquiry.

Alleging that the “project was designed and estimated at higher cost to extend financial benefits to private parties”, Citizens Front for Water Democracy had claimed a scam of Rs 3000 crore in this PPP model and lodged a complaint with the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).

“The CVC is looking into the Rs 3000-crore scam, which ultimately the public will have to bear by way of taxes and tariff. We have escalated the matter to the CAG,” SA Naqvi of Citizens Front for Water Democracy said.

A DJB official said, “A complaint has been received, re-directed from the CVC and we are looking into it. But it does not mean that the DJB cannot sign the agreement.”
