As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has opened an old age winter home for male senior citizens at Govindpuri in south Delhi.

The home, which will remain open till the March 31 next year, has the capacity to accommodate about 45 people. The DMRC will provide all basic necessities like beds, pillows, blankets, etc, to the occupants.
“The facility, being run in association with the NGO Help Age India, will serve dinner, breakfast and tea to the occupants of the home. Basic medical assistance will also be provided,” said a DMRC official.
Along with accommodation, food and basic medical help, physiotherapy and health check up sessions will also be organised. “DMRC officials will make periodical inspections of the home to ensure that it functions properly and the quality of services remains good,” added the official.
