Gammon India, the company in-charge of construction at the metro site where a mishap killed six people, on Monday said it is carrying out the projects as per the highest standards of quality and safety and promised to help the families of the victims.

"Gammon India is fully cautious of its social and technical responsibilities towards society. This project too is being carried out as per the highest standards of quality and safety in accordance with norms laid down," V N Hegde, Chief Designer, Gammon India, told reporters at the accident site, where rescue operations are on.
He said the company is internally investigating the incident and assured full cooperation to the four-member high power committee appointed by the DMRC.
"A team of competent administrative and technical personnel from our head office are camping round the clock at the site with a view to support the rescue and recovery operations," he said.
Another Gammon official said the company was committed to help the families of the dead and injured.
Hegde said Gammon had constructed 25,000 metres of metro line "successfully and safely".
