"Sunil has been booked under sections 107/51 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) and presented before a special executive magistrate. He has been sent to 14 days' judicial custody in Tihar Jail," a police official told IANS.
Sections 107/51 of the CrPC deal with apprehension of breach of peace at public place.
Dwivedi was holding a press conference on the crackdown on yoga guru Baba Ramdev's anti-corruption stir, when the incident took place in the full view of TV cameras.
Sunil Kumar came very near to the dais where Dwivedi was sitting and threateningly brandished a shoe. But Dwivedi pushed him away.
A security guard caught him and journalists present at the conference also pounced on Sunil Kumar, who was then whisked away by security men.
