"Our leader has spoken to Sonia Gandhi pertaining to the recent hike in petroleum prices, especially diesel which
will create cascading effect on prices," DMK leader in Lok Sabha T R Baalu told reporters outside Parliament House.

To a question on whether DMK supports rollback in fuel price hike, he said the Government will have to "think
whether it is possible to do something so that the cascading effect is avoided".

He also slammed the Opposition parties for disrupting the proceedings of the House on the issue.

"Any political party which would like to discuss the issue on the floor of the House should not disrupt the House.

Without disrupting the House, political parties can raise the issue on the floor of the House," he said.
