Eight, including kids, hurt in cylinder blast

Eight persons, including six minors, were injured when a gas cylinder exploded in Mahavir enclave area of southwest Delhi on Sunday morning. A call was made to the fire department at 11am and fire tenders were rushed to spot to douse the blaze.

Eight persons, including six minors, were injured when a gas cylinder exploded in Mahavir enclave area of southwest Delhi on Sunday morning. A call was made to the fire department at 11am and fire tenders were rushed to spot to douse the blaze.

"We managed to control the fire immediately and the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals," a fire department official said. Initial investigation suggests that cylinder exploded apparently due to leakage of gas. Six minors, including a girl, were among the eight injured. The injured children have been identified as Manan (3), Pradhan (4), Arin (7), Prateeka (7), Rafeeq (8) and Ravi (16).
